The weekend of 25th to the 27th September will become a wild and sleepless weekend for the teams that will be challenged to make a 4 to 7min movie - write, shoot, and edit it - in just 48 hours. No age limit – all welcome!

Space is limited. Register your team today at www.48hourfilm.com/sydney
Early Bird Registration is $100. Teams must register on or before Friday, September 11, to get this special rate. Afterwards, registration is $120.

Each team receives a genre, a character, a prop, and a line of dialogue that they must work into their film. All films in the Sydney competition will be screened on the big screen on 7 October when judges will select the winners in each category and the audience will select its favourite. The awards will be presented at a gala “best of” screening on 16 October. Iconic actor, Jack Thompson has been appointed patron of the 48 Hour Film Project and will head the judging panel this year. The prizes being offered to this year’s winners are extremely generous with a value of $20,000. A member from the winning team will be sent to the international championships and joins the World Best Of The 48 Hour Competition held annually in the USA!

Anyone of any age can compete, amateur or professional. The Project encourages school teams, senior’s teams, and the participation of those with a disability. Films can be in any language and cultural diversity is encouraged.

THE 48 HOUR FILM PROJECT is the oldest and largest timed film competition in the world. In 2008, more than 70 cities around the world participated, with a total of 2,500 entries and over 30,000 filmmakers. THE 48 HOUR FILM PROJECT mission is to advance filmmaking and promote filmmakers.
